Latics await Cleverley news

Roberto Martinez has revealed that he has yet to speak to Sir Alex Ferguson about Tom Cleverley's short term future and it would appear that talk of a recall would appear to be media speculation. Latics fans are hoping for Cleverley to stay until the end of the season as the England uner 21 international has been performing to a consistently high standard for the club, scoring three goals in his last five games. With Luis Antonio Valencia and Ji Sung Park both recovering from their injuries a recall for Cleverley would see a dramatic reduction in the level of first team football he would receive. One of the first names on the team sheet at the DW Stadium, Cleverley is really starting to make an impression for the Latics. Speaking to the press, Martinez said: "I haven't spoken with Sir Alex. At the moment nothing is changing. He is on loan until the end of the season. "Obviously Man United have the option to call him back, as with any other loan, but at the moment nothing has been said. "Tom has settled very well here and is enjoying his football. We hope that will continue. But it's not in our hands what is going to happen." Cleverley will still be in the Wigan Athletic squad to face Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday evening. CLICK HERE FOR THE MESSAGEBOARD
