Doncaster have completed the signing of Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland on a three-month loan deal.[LNB] Kirkland, capped once by England in a career blighted by injury problems, has seen first-team opportunities at the DW Stadium dry up in recent times with Ali Al-Habsi now first choice between the sticks.[LNB]Kirkland, who has made over 130 appearances for the Latics since joining the club from Liverpool in 2006, will go straight into Rovers' squad for their Championship clash with Leeds on Friday night.[LNB]The deal is a major coup for new Rovers manager Dean Saunders, and Doncaster issued a statement on their official website thanking their former striker and Latics assistant manager Graeme Jones for his help with the transfer.[LNB]Rovers also thanked Wigan for their assistance with Kirkland's wages during the loan spell, which will run until January.[LNB]The 30-year-old is the third high-profile arrival at the Keepmoat Stadium since Saunders replaced Sean O'Driscoll last month, following former Wigan and Tottenham defender Pascal Chimbonda and West Ham full-back Herita Ilunga.[LNB]
