Former Wigan Athletic striker Marlon King is back in football after his spell in prison. The 30 year old has joined Coventry City on a one year deal. King was released from his contract with the Latics after being found guilty of sexual assault and assualt causing actual bodily harm last year. Following his release from prison, King joined up with Coventry in a bid to earn himself match fitness. However it would appear that the Sky Blues boss, Adrian Boothroyd, who also managed King at Watford, has taken the plung. Speaking about his signing, Boothroyd said: "When I managed Marlon at Watford he was a first-class professional and I fully expect that to be the case at Coventry City. "He's been working very hard with us in an attempt to regain his fitness. He's looked sharp in training and in a couple of reserve matches but we'll have to assess very carefully when he's ready for the step into Championship football." Marlon King himself said: "I am very grateful for the chance Coventry City have given me and I look forward to working with Aidy again. I will be working hard to repeat the success we had when we last worked together." King joined the Latics in a deal believed to be worth around £5 million under former Latics boss Steve Bruce, now with Sunderland. CLICK HERE FOR THE MESSAGEBOARD
