Holloway short on numbers

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is likely to make changes for the Carling Cup second-round visit of Wigan. Holloway will still be without midfielder Joe Martin, who is struggling with a shoulder injury, while Daniel Nardiello (hip), Danny Coid (leg) and Steve McPhee (knee) are long-term absentees. Arsenal loanee Jay Emmanuel Thomas, who made his full debut in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Watford, also misses out as he has been refused permission to play in the competition by the Gunners. Full-back Stephen Crainey and striker Ben Burgess (both groin) featured at Vicarage Road after shaking off injuries and will be available again. Holloway only has a small squad to choose from but the likes of Ishmel Demontagnac and Al Bangura will push for starts while Rob Edwards and Brett Ormerod, who were rested at the weekend, could return.
