15 January 2011 17:39
Bulls too good for County Hereford gained their first home win of the season in League Two with a solid 3-0 victory against 10-man Stockport at Edgar Street. Stockport gifted Hereford their first goal when Andy Halls turned a sharp cross from Stuart Fleetwood into his own net after only three minutes. Frenchman Mathieu Manset snapped up Hereford`s second in the 26th minute with a low drive into the far corner of the net from just inside the penalty area for his 14th goal of the season. To make matters worse for the Hatters Stephen Husbands was sent off in the 35th minute for upending James McQuilkin for the second time. Hereford continued to pile on the pressure after the break with Kenny Lunt rifling the ball into the arms of goalkeeper Matt Glennon from outside the penalty area. In the counterattack Halls broke clear on the right but his dipping shot was saved at the foot of the post by Hereford goalkeeper Adam Bartlett. But Stockport kept the Bulls on the back foot for a short time with Adam Griffin drilling a 30-yard shot inches wide of the post. But back at the other end Mark Lynch blocked a drive from Lunt but with five minutes remaining substitute Guillem Bauza rifled home Hereford`s third from 10 yards.
