Wigan midfielder Jordi Gomez has revealed he is loving life at his new club. The 24-year-old Spaniard followed manager Roberto Martinez to the DW Stadium from Swansea, and after a number of new arrivals in the summer, believes the team are beginning to gel together. After seeing off West Ham 1-0 on Saturday, Gomez is certain that the Latics will go from strength to strength and he is looking forward to facing Arsenal at the weekend. "I'm enjoying my time at Wigan Athletic," the former Barcelona youngster told the club's official website. "We have a great team with great players and it's difficult to get into the starting 11. Everyone knows they have to work hard to earn a place and that gives us some positive competition in the squad. "Of course things take time when you have a new group of players, but step-by-step we're working towards reaching our full potential." Gomez has played in every league game for the Latics so far this season, and said the win against West Ham was well deserved after a number of unlucky results. "We started the season very well against Aston Villa, and then I think we were unlucky to get the results we did against Man Utd and Everton. "We gave a very good performance and played very well as a team. Overall, I think we really deserved the win for all the effort we put in."
