Gomez buoyant ahead of Swans tie

Jordi Gomez believes Wigan will head to his former club Swansea full of confidence this weekend despite their poor start to the season.

Latics are still awaiting their second win of the Premier League campaign but have shown promise with their performances, particularly in a 2-2 draw with Everton last time out.

Spaniard Gomez, who left the Swans for Wigan three years ago, told the club's website:

"Our performances have been quite good and I think we should have more points than we have. "But the important thing is the team is working hard during the games and the results will come. "Swansea are a strong team in their stadium but we will go there as always and try to get the three points."
