A superb strike from Dale Stephens helped Oldham to a 1-1 draw against Premier League side Wigan.
The midfielder latched onto a cross from Ritchie Jones before scoring with a low volley from the edge of the area after 15 minutes.
Wigan, who gave a debut to Mauro Boselli, hit back within two minutes of the restart when Jordi Gomez fired home from the spot after being fouled by Paul Black in the box.
Oldham's player/manager Paul Dickov entered the action after 73 minutes and soon alerted the attentions of the referee following a tough challenge on Mohamed Diame.
