Diame fit for Wolves test

Despite his early substitution against Fulham last weekend, Momo Diame is expected to be fit to face Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.

The powerful Senegalese midfielder underwent an ankle scan on Monday to further reveal the extent of the damage.

Thankfully the results are in and Diame has not suffered ligament damage and should be in contention for the game with Wolves on Saturday.

Speaking about the injury to the club's official website, Roberto Martinez said: "There was a feeling of relief yesterday (Monday) when we got the feedback from Momo's injury.

"The damage he did suffer in the ankle ligaments has recovered very well and we hope that he'll resume training with the group before Sunday and he's got a chance of making the team."

There was also a message of condemnation for the tackle from Sidwell who escaped punishment from referee Mike Jones.

"When we saw the footage and the images after the game we all feared the worst, but he's been a very fortunate man that when Steve Sidwell makes the challenge Momo's foot is off the ground otherwise it would have been a certain broken leg," added Martinez.
