Franco di Santo is eagerly anticipating his Wigan debut and looking forward to working with countryman Mauro Boselli.
The two Argentinians joined the Latics over the summer as manager Roberto Martinez attempted to boost his firepower.
Di Santo, who arrived from Chelsea after spending last season on loan at Blackburn, is hoping to win a place in the Martinez's first team soon.
The 21-year-old told the club's website: "Mauro is one of the best players in Argentina at the moment, and so I would love to play with him and learn from all of his experience.
"Having so many Spanish speakers at the club has really helped me to settle in and feel at home very quickly.
"I am now very keen to get my first start for Wigan Athletic, and I will be ready on Saturday if the manager decides to play me."
Wigan, who claimed a morale-boosting win over Tottenham on their last outing, host Sunderland in the Barclays Premier League this weekend.
