Di Santo linked with Wigan switch

Wigan are reportedly keen on a permanent deal for Chelsea striker Franco Di Santo.[LNB] Discussions between the two clubs have now begun with both sides open to the prospect of an agreement being struck.[LNB]Wigan are keen to bolster their attacking options following a disjointed start to the season, while Chelsea are prepared to cash in on a player well down their striking pecking order.[LNB]With first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge likely to be difficult to come by for Di Santo this season, he too is likely to favour a switch.[LNB]The promising Argentine took in a spell at Blackburn Rovers on loan last season, scoring once in 25 appearances.[LNB]And Wigan are prepared to take a gamble on the 21-year-old frontman, believing that he still has untapped potential.[LNB]Reports suggest that they are prepared to offer around £2million to take him off Chelsea's hands.
