Gary Caldwell, Ivan Ramis, and Antolin Alcaraz are all nearing full fitness for the Latics after varying spells on the sidelines.

Ivan Ramis has been rated as 50/50 for this weekend's game with Norwich City at Carrow Road as he recovers from his hamstring injury.

Captain Gary Caldwell, also out with a hamstring injury, is said to be two weeks away from a return to first team action. The Scotland international aggrevated his injury in the first forty-five muinutes against Newcastle.

Antolin Alcaraz is also said to be about two weeks away from fitness as he battles to recover from a groin injury that has kept him out of action for the majority of the season to date.

Speaking about the injuries, Latics boss Roberto Martinez said: "[Gary]Caldwell is still in week one of a three-week recovery period.

"He missed the game against Reading (on November 24) as he was carrying a bit of a hamstring problem and that was accentuated in the Newcastle game.

"It will be between two or three weeks but he has recovered well and in the last couple of days he has been progressing. He won't be ready for Norwich but he won't be far away."

In the meantime, Emmerson Boyce and Adrian Lopez are expected to duputise with help from midfielder David Jones.
