Cattermole laments Bruce loss

Lee Cattermole admits he is sad that Steve Bruce has left Wigan but insists he will try his best for incoming manager Roberto Martinez.[LNB] Cattermole was a mainstay in the Latics midfield during the 2008/2009 campaign, before rising to prominence with the England Under 21 set-up, who get their European Championship campaign under way against Finland on Monday.[LNB]The former Middlesbrough midfielder has been on Three Lions duty since the end of the Premier League season, a period which has seen Bruce leave the JJB Stadium for Sunderland.[LNB]And the 21-year-old confessed he was disappointed to see the man who signed him leave the club.[LNB]ShameWhen asked if he was sad to see Bruce gone he told Sky Sports News: "Yes definitely, I had a good year last year and he brought me to Wigan so it is a bit of a shame, but that's football.[LNB]"Managers change, players change all the time so hopefully I'll be able to do the same for Martinez."[LNB]Cattermole reflected on a impressive campaign with Wigan that saw them spend long periods in the top-half of the table before finally ending up in 11th place, but the combative central midfielder's focus is now purely on international duty.[LNB]"I obviously really enjoyed last year and there's a lot of changes at Wigan, I think we have lost our manager and our staff now," he added.[LNB]"I'm going to concentrate on this tournament and get back and see what the situation is with Wigan and meet the new manager and see how it goes."[LNB]
