Cats chase unsettling Cattermole

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has called on Sunderland to end their interest in Lee Cattermole. The Black Cats have been keen on the England U21 international all summer, with former Latics chief Steve Bruce now in charge at the Stadium of Light. He took Cattermole to the DW Stadium last summer, in a £3.5million switch from Middlesbrough, and is keen to be reunited with the combative midfielder. Martinez, though, insists the player is not for sale and wants the ongoing transfer saga brought to a close before the 2009/10 campaign gets underway this weekend. "It's unsettling and it's very difficult for any human being to deal with," said the Spaniard. "When you're young it is even harder to deal with. "It's the nature of the game, but what you don't want is uncertainty. "You need to know where you stand and have players that are focused and working to high standards."
