Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce knows it is essential his new signings hit the ground running after a changing of the guard in the winter transfer window.[LNB] Bruce saw key men Emile Heskey, Wilson Palacios and Ryan Taylor depart in the mid-season market, while Henri Camara and Kevin Kilbane also left.[LNB]The Latics have brought in on-loan striker Mido, Hugo Rodallega, Charles N'Zogbia and Ben Watson as a replacements and Bruce is hoping the quartet settle quickly.[LNB]Seventh-placed Wigan host Fulham, who sit two positions below, at the JJB Stadium on Saturday and Bruce is eager for form on a par with a positive first half of the campaign in the Premier League.[LNB]Strong"We are very pleased with what we have done (in the transfer window) but the proof will be in the pudding," he said.[LNB]"We've lost some big players but we are delighted with what we have done and I hope we are equally strong.[LNB]"But when you have made so many changes you hope they hit the ground running. It is all right writing names on teamsheets but can they settle quickly?[LNB]"If we can go and beat Fulham, instead of looking over our shoulder we can maybe look up with 13 games to go.[LNB]"There is now a little expectation as people look at Wigan and realise we are a decent outfit."[LNB]
