Bruce ready to recall Zaki

Wigan boss Steve Bruce is prepared to throw Amr Zaki back into Premier League action at Blackburn on Sunday. The Egypt international recently incurred Bruce's wrath after going on a self-imposed exile after returning to his homeland for 2010 World Cup qualifying duty. The striker picked up a hamstring injury while back in Africa and decided not to head back to the JJB Stadium for treatment. Wigan were understandably livid at his actions, having been given no indication of his plans. However, Zaki is now back in England and the episode appears to have been laid to rest by all concerned. With that in mind, Bruce is now tempted to hand his fit-again forward a first-team recall this weekend when the Latics head to Ewood Park. Fitness "If I need to pick Zaki and have him involved, I will do so," he told the Wigan Evening Post. "He is back training, and I've got to say, training very well. "A scan showed his hamstring is okay now and his fitness is good. "I have always said we might see the return of Zaki to his best when the sun shines and the daffodils come out. "He found it difficult to settle during the winter for one reason or another."
