Leon Britton has opted to remain in the Championship as he has swapped Swansea City for Sheffield United. The pint sized midfielder received a number of offers this summer as he is available on a bosman style free transfer. However in a clear sign regarding his ambition, Britton has moved to Bramall Lane ahead of the Premiership. It is rumoured that the former West Ham United youngster has chosen regular first team football ahead of the opportunity to fight for a place in a Premiership team. "There was interest from the Premiership and I spoke to a couple of people there but it wasn't right for me - Sheffield United was," Britton told the Sheffield United official website. "First and foremost this is a massive club, you only have to look at the average attendance last season. I was here with Swansea for the penultimate one and the special atmosphere from that day is still fresh in my mind." CLICK HERE FOR THE MESSAGEBOARD
