Bramble - Hard work the key

Wigan defender Titus Bramble believes his improved displays this season are down to hard work on the training field.[LNB] Bramble has been in superb form for the Latics and has helped Steve Bruce's side cement their place in the top half of the Premier League table with a number of assured displays.[LNB]The former Ipswich and Newcastle centre-back has previously had to endure criticism and ridicule from all quarters after a number of well-publicised defensive gaffes.[LNB]But he has cut the errors out of his game this season and is now being touted for inclusion in Fabio Capello's next England squad.[LNB]Bramble believes his personal improvement comes from a combination of regular action, commitment in training and the support of his fellow team-mates.[LNB]MatureHe told Sky Sports News: "I think it is just down to working hard in training. [LNB]"The gaffer and Blackie (Eric Black) have decided that area is a weakness, so we've worked hard in training and got the results.[LNB]"I think that is a credit to the team I am playing in, the management and the coaching staff. Without them I wouldn't have been as good as I have been this season.[LNB]"That comes with playing week-in, week-out. You are going to mature as a defender, and regular games have helped me a lot."[LNB]Wigan team-mate Emmerson Boyce believes Bramble deserves international recognition, with Capello due to name his squad for the forthcoming friendly against Slovakia and the World Cup qualifier at home to Ukraine.[LNB]ChanceBoyce added: "The guy has got everything you want from a centre-back. He can head the ball, he can pass and he is a great tackler.[LNB]"You look at the England squad now and he would probably think himself he might have a chance of getting in there.[LNB]"The England manager has been to a few of our games so you never know, come the end of the season he might get a call-up."[LNB]
