Emmerson Boyce is hoping to secure a new contract with Wigan this summer. The 29-year-old former Crystal Palace defender has one year remaining on his present deal but is keen to stay longer. Boyce told the Wigan Evening Post: "We are in talks at the moment and we'll see what happens over the summer. "Everything has to be right in these situations. Hopefully we can sort something out and come to an agreement. "Wigan is a good club to be at, it is making progress and there is no reason why I shouldn't stay here." Boyce made 27 Premier League appearances in 2008/09 and has now played almost 100 times for the club since his £1.5million move from Palace three years ago.
