Boyce targets hamstring boost

Wigan defender Emmerson Boyce is hoping for a quick recovery from a recurrence of a hamstring injury having suffered a lengthy lay-off with the problem earlier in the season. The right-back missed 11 weeks after originally sustaining the injury in October and this is the second time he has been sidelined since making his comeback from the problem. Boyce is now targeting next weekend's visit of Manchester United for his comeback. "Fingers crossed, the initial stage of the recovery is going well and I'm aiming for the United game, if not then definitely Manchester City the weekend after," he told the Wigan Evening Post. "Thankfully, there's not as much pressure to race back because it's FA Cup this weekend. "The main priority for me is making sure I'm fit for the final third of the season."
