Boyce suffers hamstring injury

Emmerson Boyce suffered what appeared to be a hamstring injury in the second half against Bolton. The former Crystal Palace defender was replaced by Dutchman, Ronnie Stam. However Latics boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that the injury is unlikely to be as bad as first feared. He told the Wigan Evening Post: “We hope Boycey’s injury won’t be too bad, because he last thing you want to be doing at this stage of the season is to be picking up injuries. "That was the really disappointing aspect, because we are starting an intense period of six games in 21 days now and we need everyone fit and available.” Boyce pulled up after racing for the ball with Kevin Davies mid-way through the second half. He was forced to come off with the injury, a move that will certainly have prevented any aggrevation of the muscle. This evening's game with Swansea is more than likely to be too early for the Barbadian defender. CLICK HERE FOR THE MESSAGEBOARD
