Boyce glad to take a break

Wigan defender Emmerson Boyce believes the international break will give the squad a chance to regroup after a run of five successive defeats.[LNB] The 2-0 reverse at Aston Villa was Latics' fourth in a row in the Premier League with their exit from the Carling Cup in among that run adding to their woes.[LNB]Wigan have almost two weeks to wait before their next encounter which could be a crucial one at home to bottom-of-the-table Bolton, themselves stuck in a rut of just one win in their last 11 league matches spanning the end of last season and the beginning of this.[LNB]"Performance-wise we have to do better, we need to work harder and we need to make teams work harder to score their goals," Boyce told the Wigan Evening Post.[LNB]"We've got an international break and we need to pick ourselves up ahead of Bolton in a fortnight. The international break has probably come at a good time for us - it gives us a chance to get away, refresh ourselves and hopefully come back stronger.[LNB]"We feel we're a better team than results have been showing but at the end of the day the results are all that matters. We just need to find a way of grinding out a few results because we don't want it to go down to the last game of the season like last year. We'll go into the Bolton game full of confidence and it's a game we have to pick up something from."
