Boselli sought Veron advice

Mauro Boselli has revealed he consulted former Manchester United ace Juan Sebastian Veron about English football before signing for Wigan.[LNB] Boselli completed his move to the DW Stadium yesterday for an undisclosed fee, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal.[LNB]The Argentinian striker joined the Latics from Estudiantes, where he played alongside Veron, who struggled to make an impact in the Premier League after signing for United in 2001.[LNB]Veron endured a difficult three-year spell at Old Trafford and then Stamford Bridge, but his advice about playing in England convinced Boselli it was the right thing to do.[LNB]"Juan played for Manchester United and Chelsea and has good knowledge of the English game," Boselli told Wigan's website.[LNB]"He told me it was the best place in the world to play your football and that it would be the best place for me as a player."[LNB]Boselli was also impressed by what he heard from Wigan boss Roberto Martinez and now the deal is done, the 25-year-old cannot wait to get started with his new club.[LNB]"To be honest I wish we could start tomorrow," Boselli said.[LNB]"Everything Roberto said about the club and English football helped a great deal and made me realise that this was the right move for me.[LNB]"He wanted me here to play and enjoy my football in Wigan, which means a lot to me.[LNB]"In Argentina fans appreciate a player who plays with passion, and from what I've seen it's the same in England.[LNB]"Hopefully I can make the fans proud of the work I do on the pitch for them and for the team."[LNB]
