Latics newboy Mauro Boselli is hoping his move to the Premier League will attract the attention of Argentina boss Diego Maradona. Argentina recently departed the World cup after a 4-0 defeat to Germany and coach Maradona is likely to remain in his post. Boselli was unlucky not to be included in the Argentina squad for this World Cup, and it is testiment to the talent of the Latics new boy the company in which he is keeping. Carlos Tevez. Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain and Angel De Maria are amongst the strikers in place for the South Americans. Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post, Boselli said: "Of course to make the Argentina squad is an ambition of mine, and by playing in Europe I have a better chance of making that happen." The 26 year old striker thought long and hard over his move to the DW Stadium after finding his feet with Estudiantes. "Of course leaving Estudiantes was a difficult decision, but it was the right move for all parties," added Boselli. “I had a fantastic relationship with the fans and people at my former club, who will always have a special place in my heart. “I would like to thank them, the manager Alex Sabella, and everyone associated with Estudiantes for the past two years. “Without them I wouldn’t be the player I am or have this fantastic opportunity, I’m forever grateful.” CLICK HERE FOR THE MESSAGEBOARD
