Mauro Boselli couldn't hide his delighted after scoring two goals against West Ham United in the Capital One Cup last night.

The Argentinian striker managed to add two goals to the one he netted against Nottingham Forest earlier in the season as he added further pressure on Roberto Martinez to give him Premier League game time.

Speaking after the game Boselli said: “I am very happy with the performance of both myself and the team.

“Of course the most important thing was that the team won, but it was very pleasing to score two more goals. It’s always important for strikers to score goals, and that will give me a great deal of confidence going forwards.

“The service for both goals was excellent, it is my job to score goals and I’m glad I was able to do that.

“It’s nice to have scored again in the League Cup, but I want to take that into the Premier League now and make my mark there.”

Boselli is now in contention for a starting place along side Arouna Kone against Sunderland if Franco Di Santo fails to return to flul fitness.
