Blues leave it late

Juan Mata scored a dramatic 93rd-minute winner as Chelsea enjoyed another huge slice of luck to beat Wigan 2-1 and move to within touching distance of the Barclays Premier League top four.

The visitors looked certain to climb out of the relegation zone for the first time for almost four months when Mohamed Diame scored a spectacular equaliser eight minutes from time.

A draw would have been no more than Wigan deserved after Branislav Ivanovic had put Chelsea ahead from an offside position just after the hour mark, but Mata won it at the death.
