Black Cats bid for Cattermole
Sky Sports News understands Sunderland have tabled a bid for Wigan midfielder Lee Cattermole.
Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has been linked with a move for Cattermole ever since he made the move to the Stadium of Light earlier this summer.
Bruce signed Cattermole for Wigan last season and he is keen to be reunited with the former Middlesbrough man.
Cattermole impressed at the recent European Under 21 Championship and Wigan warned off interested clubs in the tough-tackling midfielder.
However, Sunderland have firmed up their interest with an official bid and they hope to lure Cattermole back to his native North East.
