Antonio Valencia eager to push through Manchester United move

The winger is desperate to join United this summer, and Old Trafford executives are thought to value him at £16 million. Wigan believe they can fetch £20 million for the Ecuadorian, however, and Valencia is reportedly concerned his dream move could collapse should the clubs fail to agree a fee. A report in this morning's Daily Mirror claims: 'Valencia is hoping a compromise is agreed by the weekend while he is playing in the World Cup for his homeland - or he could just let his Wigan deal run down instead. 'The pacy wide man can leave Wigan next summer for a knockdown fee of around £6m which kicks in if the Lancashire outfit are relegated, a worrying possibility on the horizon. 'Valencia has the alternative option of buying out the last year of his contract next summer, and his camp reveal he would be happy to wait until then if his dream move to United is blocked now.' If United persist with their pursuit of Valencia, it is possible that an emerging United player like Danny Welbeck or Darron Gibson could move to the JJB on loan for next season.
