Former Celtic and West Brom striker Marc Antoine Fortune is being linked with a free transfer move the to DW Stadium.

The 32 year old Frenchman has been released by West Bromwich Albion and is expected to agree terms with the Latics on a one year deal as Owen coyle continues to build his team for an assault on the Championship.

Fortune's time in British football has yielded 23 goals from 116 appearances with his most prolific reign coming shortly after joining West Brom in 2009 (on loan from AS Nancy) where he scored 10 goals in 17 appearances.

So far this summer the rumour mill has been accurate on incoming players and Fortune is said to have undergone a medical at the club on Thursday with Coyle hoping to release details of his signing before the weekend.

If he joins Fortune will join goalkeeper Scott Carson, defenders James Perch, Thomas Rogne, and Stephen Crainey, and midfielder Chris McCann as additions to the squad this summer.

Would Fortune be a good addition to the squad or are his best days behind him? Would he be a valuable contributor at Championship level or does his time at Doncaster prove he's been fund out? Let us know your thoughts on the message board.
