Real Betis have signed Spanish defender Antonio Amaya from English Premier League side Wigan Athletic on a three-year contract, the La Liga club said on Monday.
Betis, who were promoted to the Spanish first division at the end of last season, gave no financial details.
The 28-year-old joined Wigan in August 2009 but failed to make an appearance for the club in the Premier League, having played in just three cup matches.
He spent last season on loan at Madrid-based Rayo Vallecano, the club where he originally made his name.
