Defender Antolin Alcaraz is still some way off being fit but Wigan's medical staff are pleased with the way he is progressing.[LNB] The Paraguay international has been out since being forced off in the first half against Swansea on August 20 with what turned out to be a three-centimetre muscle tear to his thigh.[LNB]Alcaraz is still working on an individual programme and has not resumed training with the squad but Richard Evans, Latics' head of sports medicine, said the player's rehabilitation is in line with expectations.[LNB]"He is exactly where we want him to be," he told Latics Player.[LNB]"He had a scan at the start of the week and it shows the tissue is healing really well and we have been told we can push on with more strength and power work with him.[LNB]"Hopefully when we are comfortable with the work he is doing and he can tolerate what we are doing then we can introduce him back into the squad."
