Following his exertions for Paraguay in the Copa America, Antolin Alcaraz faces a race to be fit in time for the Latics' trip to Swansea City this weekend. The influential centre back is hoping to be fit for the game and manager Roberto Martinez is hoping to be able to pick his star centre back for the game. Speaking to the Wigan Athletic Official website, Martinez said: "Antolin's [Alcaraz] fitness is getting better by the day as we expected, now only time will tell if he can be fully fit and available for the weekend."We need everybody ready for the game, we don't like injuries or anything that obstructs the competitive edge in the side." The Latics boss also revealed that he is expecting a hostile reception from the Swansea fans, but he and his players are ready. "We'll have to be prepared for a hostile atmosphere where the fans enjoy their role and make it difficult for visiting sides," added Martinez. Should Alcaraz be fit for hte game it is likely that Adrian Lopez will be replaced. The Spaniard suffered a nasty head wound requiring 16 stitches in the weekend's draw with Norwich City.
