Latics manager Owen Coyle had openly expressed his desire to extend the deal and see Albrighton remain with the club for a further period.
However Villa manager Paul Lambert has today confirmed that the winger will be recalled.
As a result Albrighton is unavailable for selection in Thursday's game with Zulte Waregem in the Europa League.
