Zola warning for Hammers

Gianfranco Zola has admitted he will consider his future as West Ham United manager should he be forced to sell some of his key players.
The Italian has only been in the Upton Park hot-seat for 13 games, but reports continue to suggest the Hammers could be forced into a January firesale following the financial problems of Icelandic owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson.
Last week, goalkeeper Robert Green and defender Matthew Upson were linked with a combined £16million January move to Tottenham Hotspur and Zola has threatened to consider his future should prize asserts be sold.
"I have been told the club won't change but we will see," he told the News of the World.
"And if they tell me they need to change their strategy I would have to think about my future because the scenario would have changed.
"When I agreed to come here as manager it was because of the project of developing the players we have got, bringing on the younger ones and keeping them to reach a point when we could compete with the big clubs.
"That was the project, but a lot of things have happened on and off the pitch.
"We need time but the club must speak to me if they need to change their strategy."
