Zola fearing Hines absence

West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola is concerned that his strike options may be further limited by Zavon Hines having suffered with knee problems in the 4-0 home reverse to Manchester United.

Hines was forced off at half-time against the Red Devils and Zola is worried that the youngster could be sidelined for some time.

He told the club's official website: "Zavon is one of those players on the edge, he has a knee problem.

"Zavon gave everything and we felt sorry for him because he gave everything and he was excellent in the first half.

"He felt the knee again and he had to come off. I don't know what it's going to be, but it's not looking good."

Meanwhile, Zola played down the substitution of goalkeeper Robert Green, who was forced out of the action 17 minutes from time after being ill.

The Italian added: "Robert came off because he was feeling sick. He felt sick at the beginning of the second half and just before the (second) goal and that's it really.

"We didn't take him off straight away because we thought he could carry on, but I don't think it affected the goals we conceded afterwards."
