Yossi agrees Hammers deal
13 Sep 2006 - 07:58:53
West Ham United midfielder Yossi Benayoun has agreed a new five-year contract with the Hammers.
The 26-year-old Israel international moved to Upton Park just over a year ago from Racing Santander and has quickly established himself as a fixture in Alan Pardew's plans.
Benayoun was linked with both Liverpool and Arsenal in the summer, but says that he is more than content to stay with West Ham.
"I never said I wanted to leave the club, I am happy at West Ham and I will sign a new contract in the next few days," Benayoun confirmed.
"Everything has been agreed and I will sign for five years. It shows I am very happy at the club and that the club are happy with me."
Benayoun is also excited abut the club's prospects following the recent arrivals of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano, adding: "Of course if somebody comes in with a lot of money of course it will help the team.
"They brought in two world-class players, so I think this club is going to make a big step forward."
