West Ham's transfer news of the week, including: Carroll, Lukaku, Rat and Bony
West Ham United have finished the season on high and are looking for a new striker for the next season. The Hammers are in the papers this week after done deals and surprising moves. The current transfer record is at £10m for Matt Jarvis last year and the record looks like it could be broken again.
West Ham have already secured the signing of Romanian left-back Razvan Rat for free and on a one year extendable contract.
Carlton Cole has left after the club didn’t renew his contract. Crystal Palace are reportedly after the 29 year-old.
According to a lot sources, Andy Carroll is to stay at Upton Park, after West Ham have agreed to pay Liverpool £15m, the price they set at the start of the loan. Carroll has scored 7 goals in 24 games in the Premier League this season. After returning from an injury at the start of the season, he bounced back and helped the Hammers into 10th place with his unstoppable goals.
West Ham are confident of planning to partner Andy Carroll with young goal-scoring machine, Romelu Lukaku, who spent last season with West Brom on loan from Chelsea. The 20 year-old would sign on loan after being told that a permanent deal would not happen. Swansea City are also interested in the loan of the youngster.
Wilfred Bony is a possibility signing and was West Ham’s priority signing after Carroll seemed more realistic. Bony is being chased by Chelsea and Newcastle United and has scored 27 goals in 25 games for Dutch club Vitesse. He is rated at £12m.
Peter Crouch, 32, is also another possibility signing after Stoke turn to Nicklas Bendtner. Crouch signed for Stoke for £10m from Tottenham.
West Ham are reportedly leading the race to sign Birmingham teenager Nathan Redmond.
West Ham also want Real Betis midfielder Benat, 26, who is available on a free transfer in this summer’s transfer window.
Arsenal and Tottenham are after West Ham star Mohammed Diame who has been on form for West Ham this season.
Dynamo Moscow midfielder Balas Dzsudzsak could be on his way to West Ham after his agent admitted that the player had been turned by interest from the east London side.
The agent of Massimo Ambrosini has revealed that West Ham have made a bid for the AC Milan midfielder. The 35 year-old midfielder was also pictured in London with West Ham fan.
