Tevez targets summer move
19 May 2007 - 14:40:31
West Ham United's Argentina international Carlos Tevez has admitted that he hopes to clinch a move to one of Europe's leading clubs this summer.
The 23-year-old helped the Hammers avoid relegation to the Championship, but does not see his long-term future at Upton Park.
He told The Sun: "I want to join one of Europe's big clubs, that's what I've talked to my agents about.
"I don't know about interest from Real Madrid but it makes me happy such an important club is interested in me.
"But at the moment there still isn't a concrete offer.
"People at West Ham were incredible with me and I'll never forget that. But of course I would like to get a chance at a big club.
"For the English fans to shout 'Argentina, Argentina' for me as they did at Old Trafford is unexplainable. That they see me as an idol is fantastic."
