Shoulder blow for Bowyer
02 Jan 2007 - 13:02:37
West Ham United midfielder Lee Bowyer faces well over a month out of action after suffering a dislocated shoulder in the 6-0 thrashing at Reading.
The 29-year-old lasted just 19 minutes of the mauling at the Madejski Stadium, before being forced off after injuring his right shoulder.
Hammers head physio Steve Allen told the club's official website: "Lee sustained a dislocation to his right shoulder and although the joint is now back in place, he will be in a brace for around three weeks.
"We are probably looking at a spell of six weeks before he is fit to play again."
Bowyer rejoined the Hammers last summer, but has struggled to make his mark and has failed to find the net in 17 appearances this season.
