Reid: Hammers still upbeat

West Ham defender Winston Reid insists their confidence has not been dented by last weekend's shock defeat by Cardiff. The Hammers, under new boss Sam Allardyce, are among the favourites for promotion but missed a host of chances at Upton Park last Sunday and were hit with a sucker-punch when Kenny Miller scored the winner in stoppage time. But New Zealand international Reid said: "The manager has been great. We are looking forward to the season ahead, we have only played one game so there is a lot to look forward to here. "We all believe in ourselves and the team that we can do what is required to get us up. It's long season with a lot of games and we are confident. "There is a lot of belief in the team and hopefully we can show that in our games."
