Joined West Ham from Bordeaux for £6.1m in July 2007 after rejecting advances from several top European clubs. Faubert however ruptured his achilles tendon in a pre-season match against Sigma Olomouc in Austria which kept him out for 6 months. After an operation in Strasbourg Julien made his debut as a substitute against Fulham in January, which the Hammers won 2-1.
