    No Barca move for Tevez

    03 Nov 2006 - 09:23:29

Carlos Tevez's agent Adrian Roucco insists the Argentinian star is staying at West Ham United despite the striker's disappointing start to life at Upton Park.

The 22-year-old is being linked with a move to Barcelona and reports had suggested the Catalan giants wanted Tevez as cover for their injured striker Eidur Gudjohnsen.

The Iceland international picked up an ankle injury during Tuesday's Champions League draw against his former club Chelsea while Barcelona are also without long-term injury victim Samuel Eto'o.

However, Roucco insisted on www.ole.com.ar: "These kind of things are always managed through formal offers.

"If there is anything, the player and I have to be informed. If I have not been told anything. It means that there's nothing official.

"All the rest is speculation, as has been going on for several months.

"Up to now, there has been no official offer. It is all speculation. If it wasn't, this information would be more important. Tevez stays at West Ham."

Tevez has failed to score in his seven appearances for Alan Pardew's side since his controversial switch to the Hammers more than two months ago.

His last start for the club was in the home defeat to Reading almost five weeks ago.
