Speaking out: Ex-Hammer Luis Jimenez Former West Ham attacker Luis Jimenez has criticised the Barclays Premier League and claims it does not compare to Italian football. Jimenez, 25, endured a nightmare spell at Upton Park following his loan move from Inter Milan last summer and made just 11 appearances for the east London club. He scored just once for the club - a penalty in a 5-3 win over Burnley back in November. The Chilean international had his deal cut short in the January transfer window when he joined Parma for the remainder of the season. Jimenez is desperate to get his career back on track and feels he was never given a chance in English football. Jimenez said: 'Football there is a bit different from the Italian football, and after six months in England I would say that Italian football is much more complete. They play also at Christmas and on New Years Day. For me, football is not everything, but much also depends on the environment. Spot on: Jimenez scores his only goal for West Ham in the win over Burnley 'I want to thank FC Parma who brought me back into the Italian league. I hope to do very well. 'One of my privileges is to give quality to the game of Parma and I hope to showcase the qualities that led me to Inter.'  Matthew Etherington: I blew £1.5m on gambling and kept my shame a secret from family England striker Carlton Cole reveals he rejected two January bids to stay at West Ham United WEST HAM FC
