    Ljungberg suffers setback

    17 Dec 2007 - 11:03:19

West Ham United midfielder Freddie Ljungberg could be set to miss the busy festive programme after suffering a migraine attack.

The Sweden international has been troubled by the problem in the past, but now faces the prospect of being sidelined for the next two weeks.

Hammers boss Alan Curbishley has seen his squad plagued by injuries in the first half of the campaign, but may be handed funds in the January transfer window to strengthen his side.

Former Arsenal star Ljungberg told the Daily Mirror: "I feel fit at the moment although I've had a migraine again. It always takes me about ten days to two weeks to get over one."

Curbishley is particularly concerned about his striking options as Craig Bellamy could be forced to have surgery on an abdominal problem and may be set for a long spell on the sidelines.

Dean Ashton is still not match-fit while Carlton Cole is suffering from a hip injury and Bobby Zamora is out for almost four months with a knee problem.

Curbishley said: "We have a good squad but we haven't seen some of them yet.

"I have players with no date for a return and some not far away. We'll have to assess it as we go along.

"It's frustrating. We did a lot of business in the summer but we've never had the chance to get it all together. We've hardly been able to name the same side in successive games."
