Laws optimistic about Sears

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has revealed he "is in with a shout" of bringing West Ham striker Freddie Sears to Hillsborough. Laws wants teenager Sears, who has also been in talks with Peterborough, on a season-long loan. Laws told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We are in with a shout of signing Freddie, but there are other clubs interested in him too. "Freddie is currently on holiday, but we will meet up again when he gets back." Peterborough chairman Barry Fry claimed last week his club had been pipped to the signing the 19-year-old as West Ham favoured a more lucrative offer from the Owls.
