Kornilenko handed West Ham trial as striker sets sights on Premier League

Belarus striker Sergey Kornilenko will fly to London on Friday for a trial with West Ham United. Sportsmail revealed last week that the cash-strapped Hammers were lining up a loan deal for the Zenit St Petersburg target man after failing in more ambitious short-term moves for the likes of Italy striker Luca Toni and Brazil international Adriano. Kornilenko has been told he can leave Zenit just six months after joining the Russian giants from Tom Tomsk for £1.2million. Out to impress: Kornilenko has a chance to earn a move to Upton Park The 26-year-old scored just once in 12 appearances for Zenit and is not in the plans of new manager Luciano Spalletti. Tom hope to take him back on loan, but Kornilenko is determined to impress the Hammers to seal a switch to the Barclays Premier League.  West Ham look to Russian Kornilenko to solve Upton Park striker crisisWest Ham deal still on: InterMarket consortium look to seal £100m dealMartin Samuel on the financial 'crisis': It's bad owners who fail, stupid! Why did West Ham and Wolves not play on Sunday despite no snow in east London?
