Irons win Bowyer appeal

West Ham United have won their appeal against the red card shown to midfielder Lee Bowyer during Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Birmingham City.
Bowyer was dismissed by referee Mark Clattenburg for a late challenge on Damien Johnson, with video replays suggesting that the Hammers ace was harshly dealt with.
That view was shared by the FA's Disciplinary Commission, who have rescinded Bowyer's red card.
Bowyer's manager, Alan Curbishley, had said straight after the game: "We have asked Mark to look at it and we think he will. Hopefully he will overturn it.
"When it happened I did not think it was that serious, but on the spot the referee sees it differently.
"I think Johnson has come in and both of his feet have connected with the ball, so I don't know if Lee has gone above it. We will have to wait and see."
