Irons seal swoop for Obinna

Nigeria forward Victor Obinna has joined West Ham United on a season-long loan from Internazionale.

The 23-year-old represented the Super Eagles at the recent World Cup finals, where he made two appearances.

He has been allowed to join the Hammers after struggling to break into the first team at the Italian and reigning European champions.

Obinna spent time on loan in Spain with Malaga last season, where he scored four goals in 26 appearances.

He has also already scored against Premier League opposition after bagging a brace during Inter's 3-0 pre-season victory over Chelsea in July.

Obinna is the sixth player signed by Hammers boss Avram Grant since taking the reins at Upton Park earlier in the summer.

Thomas Hitzlsperger, Tal Ben Haim, Winston Reid, Pablo Barrera and Frederic Piquionne have all joined the east London club.
