Inter keen to take Tevez
16 May 2007 - 13:22:44
Serie A champions Internazionale are being linked with a £25million summer swoop for West Ham United's Argentina international Carlos Tevez.
According to the Daily Express, Inter chief Massimo Moratti has already opened talks with the player's representative Kia Joorabchian.
The 23-year-old played a key part in the Hammers' successful battle to avoid relegation, but his controversial transfer from Corinthians to Upton Park nine months ago and that of Javier Mascherano, led to the club being fined £5.5million.
Real Madrid, Sevilla and Chelsea have also been linked with the player.
Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo, who is currently on loan at Inter, would welcome the opportunity of playing with Tevez.
He said: "Carlos would be brilliant in Italy. With his class, quality and pace he would drive defenders crazy in every match.
"He is a world-class star. It would be possible for us to be an excellent pair in attack. I believe we would score many goals because we would complement each other on the pitch.
"I don't know what Inter's intentions are but, if they are interested, then I will try to convince him to sign."
