Hammers duo told to leave
06 Oct 2006 - 08:01:12
Struggling West Ham United duo Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano have been told to leave Upton Park by Argentina national boss Alfio Basile.
Basile, who replaced Jose Pekerman following Argentina's penalty shootout defeat to Germany in the quarter-finals of this summer's World Cup finals, wants to see the pair move to Juventus.
The Turn giants are currently playing in Serie B but Basile is worried by his stars' poor form in England.
He told Argentine website TyC Sports: "I think they're half-hearted and I'm really worried. They play as if they're unenthusiastic.
"I hope both of them leave that club as soon as possible.
"I hope for God's sake that Mascherano can go to Juventus as it has been said, even if he has to play in the second division in Italy.
"And Tevez can play in any position in the attacking line, but not as a left-winger like he is currently playing."
